The hair industry's latest hair colour product was introduced to stylists and salon owners at Calgary's Fashion Focus in March, just in time for spring 2008.

Deepshine Bio-Marine Therapy hair colour completes Rusk’s wildly popular line of hair care and styling products. Salons that are loyal to Rusk but have had to use other brands of colour can now offer their clients a full complement of Rusk products and services.

Rusk’s colour is a pure pigment conditioning cream. Cream colors are thicker than liquid colors and do not slide off the hair when processing. Deepshine Colour’s advanced nano-technology from Italy means colour molecules are in their tiniest form. The colour particles can penetrate right to the centre of the hair because they are so small, ensuring consistent coverage of each strand.

Dense colour particles means stylists can use a lower volume of developer to process the colour, which is great for customers concerned with high levels of peroxide damaging their hair.

Jennifer Swinton, a Rusk Senior Educator, united Rusk’s edgy cutting styles with Deepshine Colour at Fashion Focus. Stylists watched Jenn at eye-level transform dull brown hair to glowing blond curls and rich red tresses. Jenn is a Master Designer at Raw Beauty in St. Albert, Alberta.

Don Wyatt, a Rusk Designer from Toronto, took the mainstage at Fashion Focus treating the crowd to the latest cutting techniques that showcased the models’ Deepshine Colour. Rusk’s headquarters at Fashion Focus was abuzz with stylists wanting to learn more about the hydrating and conditioning ingredients.

Stylists know that hair’s porosity is what causes colour to fade and were most interested in how the newly created colour balances porosity and seals the hair’s cuticle. When colour is distributed evenly throughout the hair the colour is uniform. When the cuticle is closed tightly and smoothed, the hair reflects light making it shiny and luminous.

Stylists learned how to formulate and apply Rusk’s new colour, boosting their education and opportunity to offer customers something new for Spring 2008. New products and services are always exciting for stylists, and their enthusiasm typically spreads to their customers. It’s this enthusiasm for something new that keeps the hair industry fresh.

Trends don’t have to be what everyone else is wearing or doing. This can make everyone look the same—and dated. Rusk’s Deepshine Colour is a great way to try the latest product with the most current technology, and have an individualized colour formulated. Personalized looks will always be in style, and by using professional hair colour such as Rusk's Deepshine Colour, stylists and customers can rely on quality and consistency for every season.
